We like to refer to ourselves as an "Unkennel", where unlike typical dog boarding establishments your dog does not spend all day cooped up in a kennel. We evaluate each dog by personality, breed, play style, sociability, temperament, size and age. This ensures that your pup gets the most out of their time with us while remaining safe at the same time!
With over 20 plus years of experience in the pet boarding and pet sitting industry, we have gained a wealth of knowledge and expertise in caring for pets of all shapes and sizes. We understand the unique needs of each pet and its owners, and we work hard to exceed their expectations.
Timm Peters, Bear Creek Kennel's owner, loves his job. Learn more about Timm.

Please reach us at if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We ONLY accept cash or checks at this time.
Our rates vary depending on the size of your pet and the length of their stay. Please see our services page for more information. Also, don't hesitate to call the kennel and discuss your pets and get a quote.
If you pick up your dog on the last day after 12 noon, you are charged an additional fee equal to our day care fee.
We have both inside and outside exercise areas for both large and small dogs. We do not automatically place your dog into group play unless you give us permission to do so. Your dog must pass a temperament evaluation and maintain good canine manners while in the group exercise areas. Some of our boarding dogs do get to spend time with our daycare dogs if they do well.
Dogs that are not able to be in a group play environment will still benefit from the same amount of break times but they will be in individual areas.
We recommend your dog be at least 6 months old before they come to a session.
We have a lot of experience administering all kinds of medications. We can administer pills, fluids, insulin, etc. Please bring the meds with you along with written instructions. Unlike other kennels, at Bear Creek Kennels, there is NO extra charge to administer meds to your dogs.
Yes, thank you for your service. Please ask for a quote.
Yes, but appointments are necessary. Please call ahead to arrange for a personal tour.
Each dog is provided a comfortable, elevated bed within their kennel. These special beds ensure your dog's bedding stays dry if they spill their water bowl. You may bring a blanket to lay on top of these beds but please do not bring any dog beds. They are not necessary. Your dog will be provided a food and water bowl. Do not bring bones or chew toys. Other dogs may become jealous and toys like that can cause fights. Do bring your dog's leash and collar.
Bring all of the food your dog will need during their stay. Be sure to bring instructions for feeding including the amount and times your dog is fed.
Be sure to arrange to have your dog's medical vaccination history emailed to us before your visit to Bear Creek Kennels. We do keep your records on file. We do not accept handwritten vaccination records. Most vets will gladly email your pet's records to us if you request the records we require.
Dogs living at the same address can be housed together in appropriate-sized spaces. We prefer to keep same-family pets together because it is less stressful for them. One kennel may be too small if you have large dogs. We can at times put two of our kennels together. There is an additional charge for this service.
Bear Creek Kennels does reserve the right to refuse to house multiple dogs in areas that are too small to accommodate each dog comfortably.
We are not open on the following holidays:

Your pet is monitored daily to ensure they are happy and healthy, but sometimes unexpected events happen that require medical attention. If your pet needs emergency care, we make every effort to get in touch with your veterinarian first, if the injury is severe, then we make the call to you. If the injury is less severe, we will call you first.
If we cannot contact your vet or your vet's office is in another town, we will contact a local vet who has made themselves available to us for after-hours questions and care. Please update your consent form with contact names and numbers and with your vet's name and contact.
Please feel free to discuss this protocol with us when you check in if you have any concerns. You will be responsible for any vet bills that occur.
Bear Creek Kennels reserves the right to refuse services to any dog that displays aggressive behavior towards humans and/or other animals. The safety of our guests and our staff is of utmost importance to us, and for that reason, we cannot board animals that pose a threat. We highly recommend that owners of any dog with a history of behavior issues schedule a "Meet and Greet" with us before boarding dates to make sure that our environment is a good match for their dog (and that they are a good match for us).
The answer is yes. Please discuss this ahead of time with the staff when you book your appointment.
